About 'RETURN TO GOOD':

"Our lives are surrounded by nature- this visual poetry that we easily overlook. We need to get back in touch with what's real, with what connects our heart and the soul," offers James. "It's about choices and being present in the moment. And as Joseph Campbell once said,"The best we can do is lean towards the light."

A touring musician and teacher from New York, James decided to follow his instincts, composing & producing pieces inspired by his travels- and others from personal reflection. With beautiful tones and improvisations- likened to works of Mark Isham, Hubie Laws, Chris Botti- recordings took shape between New York, Boston, and San Francisco. 'Return to Good' was mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, CA.

As James notes, "Each piece had its own point of departure:"I Feel the Winds of God" is based on a hymn that reminds me of climbing to the summit at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. "Dance of the Redwoods" is a live improvisation inspired by walking under the giant redwoods in Marin, CA. "Buds into Flowers" sprang to life from trips to the NY Botanical Gardens and the joy displayed in my mother's watercolor paintings. "Birdsongs" came from observing hatchlings learning to fly from our city apartment ledge."

The album is joyful, with charming phrases, hummable melodies, and mesmerizing tones. For music lovers, the beauty in the performances is a reminder to all of us of the power of what's real. It's a musical celebration of poetry in nature- and of life itself- in this, 'Return to Good.'
